Installation with 360° Video
Digital / Color
11:46

This is an installation work using a VR kit.

The piece explores the concepts of "existence" and "beginning," drawing inspiration from Hideki Yukawa's elementary domain theory and the ideas of his disciple Kunio Yasue. Its purpose is to provide a simulated experience of hypotheses that arise at the intersection of science and philosophy.

The 360° video reveals a single room. In this space, the audience exists not as a physical body but solely as consciousness, acting as a witness. When the audience's consciousness is observed by the two consciousnesses present in the space, it is only then that they are recognized as "existing" in that realm.

The VR video was filmed in the same location where the installation is exhibited. When the audience removes the VR headset, they find themselves in the same space as the one they experienced in the video. This feeling of "returning" creates a sense of disorientation, while also offering an opportunity for the audience to reflect on and become aware of their own existence.
