Being A Witness is a Site-responsive moving image practice that begins by arriving at a place through intuition rather than prior research.

The destination is determined through chance and instinct. Once there, the artist remains on site, gradually building an understanding of the place through conversations with local residents and by engaging with its history, culture, and collective memory. Rather than relying on information found online, the project privileges knowledge carried by the people who inhabit the place.

The intention is not to document a location, but to wait for the moment when the place begins to reveal itself as a work.

The experiences accumulated during each stay—encounters, emotions, fragments of history, and the relationship formed with the site—are not reconstructed into a linear narrative, but transformed into experimental moving-image works.

The rabbit figure appearing throughout the series is not a guide or fictional character. It functions as a projection of the artist's own perception, serving as a quiet mediator through which the place is experienced.

Rather than documentary, Being A Witness explores the gradual process of becoming a witness through shared time with a place.
