The Structure /構造
2019
Installation with 8 videos & a soundwork
This work is an installation composed of 8 video pieces. It visualizes the hypothetical concept, frequently explored in other works as well, that "existence is established through the interaction of two consciousnesses." From the perspective that humans are also composed of elementary particles, it overlays the relationship between matter and consciousness.
Viewed from above, the design is inspired by atomic structures, with two materialized consciousnesses placed at the nucleus and the other video pieces acting as electrons. The video works, such as The Resonance (2019), The Reversion (2019), The Fluctuation (2019), and The Observation (2019), all revolve around the theme of two consciousnesses.
While matter was once thought to be static and unchanging, it is now understood at the particle level to be dynamic, with its number constantly fluctuating as particles are created, annihilated, and transformed. This work presents the idea that matter is continuously evolving and aims to reconsider the concept of "existence" from a material perspective.
