This work was born from an exploration of the themes of "death" and "existence" through the connection between nature and humanity. When gazing at a fire or water, or feeling a strong wind on a rooftop, I often feel the presence of the deceased. These moments are not merely memories, but rather a ritual of negotiation, as if engaging in a sacred dialogue with nature.
In modern society, the methods of handling the body after death have become more efficient, with options like tree burials and ocean burials becoming common. In the future, digital funerals might also emerge. However, the connection between the elements of nature and the human body remains strong, and remembering the deceased is a crucial way to bring them back into existence.
This work focuses on the negotiation with the element of "water," materializing it in a tangible form. Additionally, by placing an immaterial conceptual substance into a physical box, it seeks to express abstract feelings and concepts in a concrete way. Through this, the work aims to allow us to "possess" the unseen and to deepen our understanding of the importance of coexisting with nature and reflecting on life and death.
